Last Saturday (27/11/2010) was the Mayoral election in Taiwan which include 5 new cities namely Taipei; New Taipei; Taichung; Tainan & Kaohsiung. However before the polling date; i.e. on Friday (26/11/2010 night), gunshot has taken place in the KMT New Taipei campaign which they claimed that someone has shot down Lien S.W. (son of Lien Chan - the ex Vice President of Taiwan), as far as I am concerned, nothing has happened so far, the whole scenario were dominated by KMT which is "fake", in other words, nobody died and Lien S.W. did not hurt on the whole! We must reckoned that KMT is a group of gangs and rascals and they are not belonging to Taiwan whatsoever ever since they flee to Taiwan from China in 1949 after defeated by Communist. Those people cannot be categorized as civilized human beings but only uncivilized ethnic group. Chinese are the worst race in the world which no one can deny, they sustained with all disastrous behaviour; such as cunning, sneaky, arrogant, haughty, capricious, selfish, pride that no other ethnic group could beat them.
As far as I am concerned, KMT is using their power to cheat Taiwanese that such shooting has been politically motivated by the opposition party as to win the election and gain sympathy from the voters. Public media has been manipulated by KMT for many years and they are the ruling party in Taiwan at the moment which enable him to dominate the episode, KMT can use all the resources as taking advantages of the public media to fool Taiwanese as to reverse the result. I strongly condemned such behaviour as it is not a fair play between two parties. Four days has elapsed and nothing has been put on to the table; such as videos, photos etc. on what has really happened on that day? I am positive that nothing has happened on that night and KMT is trying to fool the voters and gain the election. Taiwanese people has been suppressed by KMT for many decades and still unable to get rid of KMT, the main reason is that most of them being educated (brain washed) by KMT and did not know the history of Taiwan. One must realized that if such circumstances still drag on, Taiwan will soon be annexed by China before the next Presidential election.
God bless Taiwan~~~

USElections 2010: America Votes (transcript from BBC, UK on 03/11/2010)
"US President Barack Obama's Democratic party has retained control of the Senate despite losing a number of seats to the Republican".
In accordance with latest report, Republican Party has won 218 setas in House of Representatives whereby short of 10 seats to control the Senate. They have taken 48 seats up to this moment. I woundn't be surprised on such outcome because USA has been fallen into economic recession due to their bad behaviour in spending for decades, with the uprising of "Globalization" that enhances the power of Multi-National enterprises to manipulate their market throughout the world, that cause traumatic blow to middle classes as well as small and medium enterprises inevitably. America has become the country which burden highest deficit worldwide; it is by no means that such scenario could be turn around shortly. For that matter, people of America has expressed their anger and rejected Government's wrong strategy prevailed on the result of this mid-term election. Another point worth us to carefully observed is; the rise of "Third Power", Tea Party emerged from "nowhere" and post great threat to the Democrats during this campaign, I assumed that due to the American wants dramatic change in their society and fed up with "2 party's politics"? As Tea Party's policy/strategy to the people is "reduce federal spending", "reduce high deficit", "reduce size of government", "reduce unemployment"; such slogan has win the heart of most voters and clear cut into the present situation. They worked in alliance with Republican and won 2 seats in the Senate which put enormous pressure onto Democrats.
If we look back to Taiwan in terms of their election results; we have something in common, i.e., KMT (Kuomingtang) has suffered hard blow in last years county mayoral election as well as "substitute" legislator election, KMT had created billions of debts and inclined rapidly towards China, high unemployment, high federal spending, high national deficit, heavily relied on the market of China etc. Taiwan has also fallen into economic recession & such nightmare still persisits. To summarize my essay, I sincerely prayed all people of Taiwan can deposed KMT by casting their ballot to the opposition party (DPP or Taiwan Solidarity) on 27th this month.
God bless Taiwan

Japan & China in maritime dispute agreement (transcript from BBC, UK on 12/10/2010)
"China & Japan have agreed to work together to prevent conflicts at sea, following a diplomatic row over the detention of a Chinese sea captain."
For long China treated Japan as their opponent when we review the past history, during Ching dynasty Chinese has been defeated by so called "8 nations alliance" which ultimately ceded Taiwan to Japan under Treaty of Makuang! Chinese had kept this in mind & seeking chance to retaliate, due to the fact that Chinese ethnic group has been aggressive, arrogant, preeminent races which induces their provocative characters. At the same token, they had been inherited the thought of "Confucianism" & "Imperialism", as a result, Chinese people turns out to be barbaric, vicious nature! In fact, the dispute of sovereignty on Spratly islands drags on for decades which other South Asian countries also claimed their rights on this island. The point is because of substantial natural resources within the seabed of Spratly island. Japanese is smart enough to avoid further aggravations on such issue whom has agreed to settle the deal at later point of time (during their meeting in Vietnam at the present moment). I cannot predict what strategy Japan is going to take next, but certainly they have their own justification to solve the problem. As China has become stronger and stronger in terms of economic power which enhances their ambition to dominate the world into 21st century, by the same token, USA is also fully alert on the attitude of China and further development around South East Asian region. We can keep an eye on the outcome in due time.

Climate shifts "not to blame" for African civil war" (transcript from BBC, UK on 08/09/2010)
'Climate change is not responsible for civil wars in Africa, a study suggests.'
It has been a while that I didn't post new articles on to my blog partly because of my laziness and partly because I did not find any good topices that stimulate my nerve to write! Prior reading above transcript from BBC, UK today; I cannot help myself to drop down my views without hesitation.
In accordance to the article, the senior researcher Halvard Buchang of the Peace Research Instute Oslo's Centre for the Study of civil War has challenged previous researcher's assumptions on climate changes and civil war in Africa.
In summary, I can agree with some of his points but also disagree with the others.
A:- It is quite clear that civil war in African such as Sudan has been dragging on for decades which poverty and ethnic tensions as well as sectarian conflicts which inflicted the consequences.
In the meantime, heaps of solid scientific evidence has to be taken into account to proof such assumptions.
D:- global climate change mitigation and adaptation really matters regardless of uncertainty about the links between climate changes & conflicts.
On the other hand, I am highly skeptical that there are close link between climate changes with civil war in Africa. Here is my views:
Per mentioned previously; civil war has various complications; poverty, starvations, economic disparity etc., what I queries most; if climate changes didn't take place, there will be much less draught and prolonged heat wave, environment turns out to be normal with abundant rainfall which enable/enhance people to grow their food avoiding from starvations. How come once could determine climate changes is not to blame for civil war in Africa???
As COP16 Summit will be held towards end of 2010 in Mexico, we may closely monitor future outcome of this conference.
A= Agree; D=Disagree

Pakistan flood death toll climbs to 1,400 (transcript from ABC, Australia on 03/08/2010)
'The worst floods in memory in north-west Pakistan have affected more than 3 million people so far and the death toll has climbed over 1,400 , a spokesman for the United Nations Children's Fund said.'
As a matter of fract, natural disaster already retaliating against human beings. Due to the stupidity of human nature; they have devastated the entire environment because of greediness & selfishness, long after the industrial revolution 2 centuries ago, human beings has been pursuing economic growth (wealth) and paying high price by destroying the rain forest, wetlands, twisted the life cycle of all creatures, furthermore, spoiling the normal cycle of natural environment which causing El Nino effect, climate change, Ozone layer becoming thinner and thinner that ultimately breaks a hole up above the Arctic etc.
I would ventured to say; if human beings continues to work their way through without stopping the pace, our next generation will be confronting with catastrophie like "The day after tomorrow"! (My apology for being so short with my essay as I am too lazy to write, hoped could pick up my mood to express my full views on various subject in future)

China Green Dam web filter teams 'face funding crisis' (transcript from BBC, UK on 14/07/2010)
'Reports from China says a controversial government-backed software project to filter internet content could be on the brink of collapse'.
As time goes by, I become more and more lazy to write essay/comment, as just returned from business trip overseas a couple of days ago, my jetlag still not reinstated, admittedly I am old now! Well, going back to above topics, I cannot help giving a big applaude to the crisis of their failing project. Since all of us know that China is being governed by a tyranny government (Chinese Communist Party) whom shares no freedom of speech/action with the people of China. I would not be surprised that they censored the rights of their citizen to access internet freely. In my view, there is entirely no human rights existed in this country and people could not speak their mind without threat like us. In accordance with the report, the developer of the Green Dam web filter software will be running out of funding in the near future, as a result, it would be good news to all internet users that they could access the internet with sensitive topics; e.g. 1989 Tienanmen Square Massacre, Falonggong etc., I am really delighted to see the collapse of such project in due course so as enable Chinese internet users to get some freedom to surf the net without any hassle!

China official newspaper calls for workers' pay rises (transcript from BBC, UK on 22/06/2010)
'One of China's most influential newspapers, the official People's Daily, has called for workers' incomes to be raised.'
At the moment, China has been under pressure from USA regarding their problems on their currency. The People's Bank of China has announced last Friday on relaxation of the Yuan which allows the currency to be more flexible and revaluate at a moderate pace, however, China has ruled out to revaluate the Yuan on a much broder scale (to lift the currency in one go!). On the other hand, G-20 meeting will be held next month and China could be faced with more allegation from other EU countries on manipulating the Yuan as to sustain their exporting growth.
In accordance with the report from People's Daily, they called for a pay rise to workers which is not coincident. Due to the economic boom during the past years, inflation has escalated higher and higher which pushed up the living costs of Chinese people, so as the gap between rich and the poor becoming wider. As most worker's wages stayed at a low margin which hardly enable them to pay for their livelihood, it might triggered instability within the society.
As a result, it endangered Communist Party's power to run the country. The strike of Foxconn and Honda taken place recently is just a tip of the iceberg!
In my opinion, if the government of China is not take proper action to control the whole situation in the future, I am most concerned that China will be a time bomb which could explode and devastating the global economy as a whole.

US envoy pushes for progress as Israel and Palestinians stall on peace (transcript from Deutsche Welle, Germany on 01/06/2010)
'With the Israelis and Palestinians no closer to resuming direct discussions over a peace deal, US Middle East envoy George Mitchell steps up his efforts to bring the two sides to the negotiating table.'
This will be a tough mission for George Mitchell as indirect talks conducted by him would proved to be a failure. Division between tow sides is too great to bridge. Let me give some update on the dispute in connection with Israelis & Palestinians; during 1967 Israelis taken East Jerusalem and claimed to be their territory & capital whereas Palestinian also insisted it is their sacred land and capital of their nation. In 2007 Israelis has annexed Gaza strip whom Palestinian been settled, they also try to resettle their people into Gaza that devastated the strip and Palestinians almost been completely wiped out!
The latest dispute which been condemned by nations worldwide is that the flotilla (including 3 warships and 3 cargo ships) been raid by Israelis which killed 9 people on board (mostly Turkish) on Sunday midnight (30/05). In accordance to the report these ships has been loaded with 10,000 tonnes of aids to Gaza strip via sea which has been blocked by Israelis since end of 2008. A few ships is belonging to Turkey and on humanitarian mission. Nearly 600 people has been put into detention centre and 30 people wounded (has been treated in hospital). Israelis argued that the flotilla invaded into their boundary and they go on board trying to stop them whereas been attacked by activist with weapons on board, nevertheless, those on board claimed that they have no weapons whatsoever, contrary to that, they alleged that Israelis starts the provocation and used firearms to shoot at them as well as beaten them up. As a lot of citizens from relevant countries on board and involved, UN and the world condemned Israelis vicious act and demanded a comprehensive investigation into the incident. With all these complications, I am highly skeptical that US envoy could be successfully pushed for direct peace talk between two sides. The latest outcome on the aggravations is worthwhile to be closely observed!

Thailand curfew extended to three more nights (transcript from BBC, UK on 20/05/2010)
'Thai authorities have extended a curfew in Bangkok for 3 more nights, following Wednesday's deadly assault on anti-government protesters.'
Finally, Thai government has extended their iron fist onto the red shirt protesters, troops has stormed the temple where many protesters had sought shelter. It was reported six people died and one is journalist from Italy, scores were wounded, anyhow, all those remained in the temple has been evacuated. Atmosphere in Bangkok still tense, one of the biggest department store in South East Asia (Central World) has been collapsed since the aftermath of the turmoil. The US and EU has voiced their concern over the riot in Thailand and urged restraint on both sides. In my view, the protest/riot is not an end but just begin as carckdown could spawn mass discontent and lead to guerrilla warfare! If condition persists, Thailand's economic situation will be hardest hit. We must keep an eye on the outcome in due course.

Thales and France fined $830m for Taiwan navy deal (transcript from BBC, UK on 04/05/2010)
'An international court has ordered France and defense electronics group Thales to pay $830m in compensation to Taiwan over a sale of warships in 1991'.
Much to my amazement, the verdict has finally handed down after 20 years! As a matter of fact, I have been watching this case for a long time, this corruption charges comes after the death of the head of procurement for Taiwanese navy, Yin ching-fen which his body was found floating off the coast of Taiwan in 1993. At that point of time, KMT (kuomengtang) was the ruling party over Taiwan and this case has been brought up by our ex-president Chen Shui Bian when he was a legislator in the Legislative council during the '90's. In light of the fact hat KMT had fully controlled the legal system over Taiwan and they did cover up the whole matter even though the opposition part (DPP) trying hard to expose full details of such corruption case but lack of reinforcement from the legal system, as a result, all effort was in vain!
In accordance with the report, ICCICA (International Chamber of Commerce's International Court of Arbitration) has ruled that both Thomas-CSF (now called Thales) and French government breached the contract that forbade commissions to intermediaries. Taiwan government has paid $460m each to buy 6 Lafayette frigates which nearly double the original budget. During the past decades, this case has been brought up several times and put to legal process, but due to the fact that peoples involved is so complexed and of higher authority (even supreme), that Taiwanese prosecutors hardly investigated the real truth and only six naval officers (including one vice-admiral been indicated).
To my understanding, ex-president Chen Shui Bian has been pressing hard to pursue the case during 2000 - 2008 but it is a shame that lots of hurdle has barred the case and it will be interesting to see what further steps KMT (Kuomengtang) is going to take after this verdict handed down by ICCICA this time.

Deadly blasts hit Bangkok protest (transcript from BBC, UK on 23/04/2010)
'A series of explosions in the Thai capital Bangkok is reported to have killed at least three people and injured scores more.'
Chaos in Bangkok still dragging on for over a month, as one could tell that it is simply a war between the poor and the rich people in Thailand. By the same token, citizen has been making use by politician whom dominated the whole scenario in their own interest. In the meantime, the entire nation is paying a price at the expense of the Thailand's traumatic economic situation.
Per my initial observation, Thailand is a developing country and ruled under monarchy, all people is highly repectful to their King and Queen who holds a tight grip on the economic, military, diplomatic policy etc. In accordance with the report, yellow shirt protesters are mainly comprises of middle class businessmen and roylaists known as "Peoples' Alliance for Democracy" whereas the Red shirts including mostly poorer workers from rural areas formally called "United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship".
The UDD are mostly loyal to the ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra whom contributed benefit to these people during his prime ministership, contrary to that, the PAD are strongly against the former PM as they believed that Thaksin has been acorrupted ruler and grafted heaps of cash from the nation. The confrontation between these two groups has indicated the significant difference within the wealth and the poverty, the gap is widening which caused such social unrest recently!
In my view, if Thailand is not going to take a big step forward to reformation and redistribution of resources equally, social unrest will persists for a long period of time which in the long run people of Thailand will be the one devastated.
Subsequently, situation in Thailand has to be closely watched as UN and USA already urged all sides to exercise restraint that we will see the implication on the South East Asian in due course.

Geithner set for talks on Yuan during visit to China (transcript from BBC, UK on 08/04/2010)
'US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is due in China for Talks with Vice-Premier Wang Qishan to discuss a long-running dispute over the Yuan.'
Without prejudice, the meeting between US & china on the dispute of devaluation/revaluation of Yuan would end up without fruitful result! The point is that China solely depending on export market as to expand their economic growth and sustain stability in their country, contrary to their import market which is relatively small to a limited percentage of population. In accordance with previous reports, it reveals that the gap between wealth and poverty becomes bigger and bigger also the Genni index reaches it's critical point. About 150-200 million peasants/workers are living below the UN standard of poverty threshold (US$1/day). I am highly skeptical that how could they strike the balance with those minority group who afford to spend when the export market becoming sluggish?
On the whole, if we put up with other prospect into considerations; such as social unrest; bureaucracy and red tapes; bribery and corruptions etc., we could hardly imagine that they allow the Yuan to revaluate, besides due to the global financial crisis still on the run, demand is obviously lower than supply (dut to the continuous mass production by China that causes oversupply). China has to press their currency at low level as to sell more products to the world otherwise they will be facing an economic downturn once Yuan is revaluated!
One chief economist from a government tahintank already speculated that China rather depeg the Yuan from the dollar instead of let them float.
Subsequently, the Yuan issue will be on the agenda next week when B. Obama meets with Hu Jintao in Washington next week. We will keep an eye on the outcome in due time!

Taiwan and China discuss free trade deal (transcript from BBC, UK on 02/04/2010)
'Officials from China and Taiwan are meeting near Taipei for two days of talks on a controversial trade liberalisation agreement.'
The so called "ECFA' (Economic Co-operation Framework Agreement) has been put on the table between Taiwan and China for which Kuomingtang government designated to be signed up in June 2010!
In accordance with the regulations of WTO (World Trade Organization), if one signed up such kind of agreement with other nation independently; they are bound by the obligation of WTO to open their market completely within 10 years (target to zero tariff) to all members of WTO, if it is not fulfilled, one has to pay heavy penalty prior jurisdiction from WTO.
In my personal view, ECFA is just like Taiwan issuing a blank cheque to China as there is entirely no transparency during past discussion, Kuomingtang only revealed how beneficial Taiwan will be once ECFA is signed without mentioning the negative impact on Taiwan, up till now we only know Taiwan's "early harvest" list but contrary to that "early damage" list never prevailed.
To my understanding, if we signed up the controversial agreement with China, our small and medium enterprises, agricultural, poultry and fishery industries will be hard hit and tens of thousands of jobs would be lost as well as lots of enterprises gone out of business, only very few industries will be taking advantages out of such agreement which will be refinery, mining, IT etc. As far as I am concerned, if one have to sign up an important agreement such as this, one must have to be well prepared for bargaining with your chips with negotiating partner, on the contrary, we did not see any bargaining power from KMT during the procedure and only propaganda is pressing ahead as to persuade people of Taiwan to accept whatever terms China offers. One can judge clearly that if Taiwan and China both are members of WTO, why can't we discuss the whole matter under the framework of FTA (Free Trade Agreement)? That is the right way Taiwan should go under the track which avoid a lot of disputes that undermined the rights of Taiwanese. At the same token, China has been trying hard to stop other nations to sign up FTA with Taiwan right from the start but now turn around and urged us to sign up ECFA with them? I can be certain that it is politically motivated; i.e. China wants to use their economic power as their tools to push for reunifications; so as to enhance their pace and visualised their dream to gobble Taiwan and make us become part of China. I strongly opposed to such agreement to be signed without mandate from Taiwanese and support a referendum on this issue prior the matter being materialized.

Osama Bin Laden threatens retaliation over 9/11 trial (transcript from BBC, UK on 26/03/2010)
'A message said to be from Osama Bin Laden threatens to kill Americans if the alleged mastermind of the 9/11 attacks is executed by the US.'
As far as I am concerned, Osama Bin Laden still played an important role as a threat to the western world after so many years since the 9/11 attacks in 2001. He seems to engage religious belief as a tool to dominate/manupulate the manner of his followers and making use of sectarian conflict within the Moslim world. As a result, he could take benefit as contradiction emerged, by all means, he will be a winner eventually and those followers has been fooled around by his tricks! In accordance with this article, Osama Bin Laden will certainly stir up another row of confrontation between USA and the Moslim world which in my opinion will be devastating in case K. Sheih Mohammed is executed.
USA will be paying a price if they didn't come to terms with the Moslim world, it's no doubt in my mind that retaliation could drag on endlessly which in the end people will be suffering high risk of insecurity (mainly the Americans). In fact, I am highly skeptical that either China or Russia is dominating the whole scenario behind which ultimately getting rid of USA and overtaking their position as superpower in the world for decades to come. The latest development will be worthwhile to be closely watched in the near future.

World is watching Hu trial, Rudd warns (transcript from ABC, Australia on 18/03/2010)
'Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has warned China that "the world is watching" the trial of Australian mining executive Stern Hu.'
When I watch this news I realized immediately that Stern Hu will be undergoing an agonizing process and put into prison next Monday which the trial will be heard. As we all know that the Chinese communist Party is taking full control of China and ruling the nation under totalatarianism. There is definitely no democracy in existence in China, people didn't have their freedom of speech, not to mention basic human rights! With Stern Wu's case, it gives us a more clear picture on how arrogance Chinese were; he is holding Australian citizenship and representing Rio Tento (one of the world's largest iron ore producer) as iron ore negotiator stationed in China and has been charged 8 months ago on giving/receiving bribes to Chinese steel companies and leaking sensitive commercial informations. However, many months has passed since remanded in custody, no diplomatic access is given to him as a result of the continuous request from Australian government. Even the trial to be held next Monday would be partly opened to Australian diplomats. Another thing is so mockery about this case that the CEO and president of Rio Tinto; Tim Albanese is giving a speech in a seminar to be held next Monday in Peking regarding strengthening global cooperation for a mutual beneficial future. Nobody knows about what happened to Stern Hu and what is accused of in order to give Rio Tinto mutual beneficial advantages in iron ore price negotiations, but one thing for sured that no clear evidence showing that he is violating against the law of China in accordance with documents from the court so far (which remains secret and unknown to the public).
Subsequently, I could speculate that Stern Hu will be receiving severe punishment from Chinese government without giving any resons after the trial, we will wait and see outcome of this case in due course!

Iraq elections hailed a success (transcript from ABC, Australia on 09/03/2010)
'Voting in Iraq's parliamentary election has finished and as the long process of counting the votes begins, Iraqis have celebrated their national elections.'
In accordance with report, voters from Iraq has cast their ballots on Sunday (07/03/2010) whom defied the violence to vote all over the whole nation. I salute them for their courage and determination to chase for a more democratic and peaceful country. As 2011 USA will be completely withdrawn their troops from Iraq which Iraqi has to be responsible of their country's security and stability. As far as I am concerned, it is really a great challenge to the government of Iraq no matter who wins the elections, especially insurgents/militants whom supported S. Hussein Still have a stronghold in the nation. (Sunny Islamic Party).
This is the second general election (parliamentary election) since the fall out of Saddam Hussein's regime, nevertheless, the ruling party (Shiite Islamic Parties) is confronting with their rival during this election and whether or not to be re-elected still remains unknown. In case no majority seats is sustained, I am afraid that the country will be falling into chaos once again, the point is; sectarian conflict has never been stopped as Al-Qaeda who manipulated the situation right from the beginning and without foreign aids/interventions in the future, I am strongly skeptical that Iraqi's new government could avoid their country relapsing into violence again and restore order. Subsequently, we have to take note that they are the 3rd largest oil exporters/producers int the world and lots of conflict of interests falls into/between relevant designated groups, (collusion, grafting, bribery etc.) That is worthwhile for us to watch closely the outcome in due course!

Extra troops deployed amid Chile earthquake unrest (transcript from BBC, UK on 02/03/2010)
'Thousands of Chilean troops are heading to the country's devastated earthquake zone as reports emerge of desperate survivors turning to looting and arson.'
First of all, I would like to express my best wishes to all friends on the net and wish you all a very prosperous year of Tiger!
Not too long ago, Haiti has been falling into chaos by devastation of earthquake, last weekend another earthquake of 8.6 on the Richter scale again shocked Chile. For the past years, our planet has been suffering from climate changes, natural disaster due to human being's ignorance, that everyone over the world has been paying a price. Due to the greediness of human being and undermining our environment continuously, glaziers is vanishing rapidly; sea level is rising dramatically, landslides and flooding has been taking place one after the other; extreme rainstorm and draught has hit hard countries used to be enjoying their stable weather condition etc.
Taking Chile's catastrophie as an example, even though natural disaster is inevitable, however, human being could restrain their behaviour and change one's concept on their never lasting exploitation on the earth, I am certain that natural disaster could be reduced drastically. Vice versa, if one did not change life style to be more spiritualized instaed of keeping on materialized to consume and undermine resources endlessly, our world will be completely ruined at the expensesw of greediness of human being!

Toyota recalls thousands of Prius car in Japan (transcript from BBC, UK on 09/02/2010)
'Toyota has recalled thousands of its hybrid Prius car sold in Japan last year due to a brake problem.'
The Japanese company is preparing to recall Prius car sold in Japan during 2009 as well as those sold overseas altogether. In my personal opinion, Japanese races are definitely the most adorable ethnic groups in the world, the reason is that they are respectable, responsible, modest and self-esteemed people and sustained their reputation/dignity regardless of losses in wealth. On the other hand, they are quite conservative and cautious while dealing with others, however, once you step into their field and get acquainted, they will be your best friend/business partners. If we take this recall programme as an example, it's harldy imagine that how much money will be lost by this technical fault which supposed to be caused by a software glitch!
When we look from another perspective and change the scenario to China, which will be entirely a different story. I could boldly predict that Chinese will shrug off any responsibility in regards to any fault as a result of production discrepancy like Toyota. It is hardly likely that one expects arrogance and haughty ethnic group (Chinses) will face reality and apologize, not to mention burdening severe consequence on heavy losses if same thing happened to them!
To put an end to this story, I reiterate that japanese highly repect human being's rights and value whereas Chinese will dump it into the furnace without any hesitation.
The last but not the least, I will be off for holiday and start writing short essay again early next month.
Happy and Prosperous Lunar New Year of Tiger to all!

Iraq election campaigning delayed (transcript from BBC, UK on 05/02/2010)
'Iraq's electoralcommission has said it will delay the start of campaigning for next month's parliamentary elections.'
As election in Iraq will be taking place in March 2010, the Iraqi government is cautious on any uprising or violence before ermerged in the country. This electoral commission said it will delay the start of campaigning due to a court decision overturn a ban on candidates barred because of alleged affiliation with Saddam Hussein's outlawed Baath Party. The parliamentary campaign is now delayed until next Friday (12/02) which allow time for the row to be resolved.
Such ban is mainly targeted to bar the Sunni groups whom is the strong supporters of the outlawed Baath Party (that is Saddam Hussein's ruling party), there were about 500 politicians running for public office!
Prior overturning the Saddam Hussein regime, sectarian conflict has never been stopped regardless of strong intervention from USA. On the whole, the saddam Hussein's Sunni group still have a stronghold over the country who tried to instigate violence and social unrest in the nation. In my persoanl view, situation in Iraq still highly depend on foreign aids especially USA to sustain their stability. The American is having high expectations on a peaceful and credible election to happen in Iraq as to materialize their exit strategy from the country (which US has more than 100,000 troops).
Subsequently, if Iraqi's sectarian conflict cannot be put on halt and come into consensus of unity between Sunnis, Kurds and Shias groups etc., the nation will still falls into chaos and peace could hardly prevailed.

US president Barack Obama unveils 2011 budget plans (transcript from BBC, UK on 02/02/2010)
'US president Barack Obama has announced a $3.8tn (UKP2.4tn) budget plan for 2011, which includes increased spending for job creation, but cuts in other areas.'
With this huge budget plan, USA will run into a national debt of 12 tn, at the moment the deficit for 2010 is estimated at 1.56tn. He has scrapped the plan of sending new crewship to the moon in 2020 and to save 250 billion by capping domestic spending programme for 3 years. On the other hand, he also proposed to levy higher tax on wealthy Americans who earns more than $250,000 per annum, but to increase spending on social welfare, healthcare for elderly, education, defense programme etc.
When we look back to Taiwan, what has KMT government done for us? Ever since they become the ruling party again in 2008, situation in Taiwan is falling into chaos, no matter economically, socially or internationally, they inclined towards china and expect to be benefited from the domestic market over there as to stimulate our economic growth, they also lowered our national status quo in the international society and embrace china as our country, Taiwan's sovereignty has vanished in short term!
Taiwan has been running into high deficit during the past couple of years and deteriorating dramatically since 2008 up to date, KMT government is borrowing huge debts as to collude with designated groups of people to fill up their pocket regardless of our critical condition in our country.
After comparing with USA's budget and policy with ours, we could distinct clearly that the big difference between Obama government and Ma government in Taiwan. USA is thinking for the well being of their citizen whereby Taiwan KMT government only care about their own benefit and dumped people of Taiwan to hell!
God bless Taiwan

Taliban to be paid not to fight (transcript from ABC, Australia on 29/01/2010)
'Taliban fighters will be paid to lay down their arms under a new scheme unveiled at a high-level ministerial summit on the country's future in London overnight.'
Prime Minister Gordon Brown of United Kingdom has set a deadline for turning the tide in the fight against insurgents. Their major principle will be committing an initial US$140 million to win back low and mid-level Taliban fighters, via jobs, education and farming land. In my personal opinion, I think it is a good idea as to put a halt to the never ending civil war between the government and Taliban insurgents. However, we must take into account that funds have to reach to those who desperately in need instead of falling into the hands of politicians (in form of corruptions)!
US secretary of state Hillary Clinton has elaborated the important role of women in Afghanistan played for the future of the nation. She reiterated that women's security, women's leadership in the public and private sector, women's access to judicial institutions, education and health services, women's ability to take advantage of economic opportunities especially in the agricultural sector has to be initiated.
By the same token, United Kingdom foreign minister David Miliband has been queried during a post-summit press conference on the contradiction planning to pay the insurgent to lay down their arms while sending troops out to fight the Taliban. He replied as saying he doesn't accept that the integration fund has been established simply 'rent back' those insurgents who are currently being paid $10, $20, $30 a day to fight for the insurgency.
Subsequently, I will be interested to see if such new scheme could be fully implemented at the end of the day which leads to end up the long term civil war and let the nation's people live peacefully!

Sri Lanka votes to elect new President (transcript from BBC, UK on 26/01/2010)
'Polls has opened in Sri Lanka for the Presidential election who comes after a bitter campaign.'
It was an acrimon9ious campaign between President mahinda Rajapaksa and his rival General Sarath Fonseka (former army chief), more than 14 million voters are eligible to vote in 11,000 centres from 0700 local time today, final results are expected to be announced on Wednesday morning. Politicians and columnists quoted as saying Mr. Rajapaksa as a worthy successor to an ancient Sinhalese monarch who defeated a rival Tamil monarch although he distanced himself from such talk.
All of a sudden, General Sarath Fonseka stormed on to the political scene - and also says that "HE" ended the terrorism. Both of the candidates claimed he has brought peace and defeated Tamil Tiger rebels last year after 25 years of civil war.
About three quarters of the population is Sinhalese races and a quarter of Muslims and Tamil becomes minority group. The sentiment amongst Sinhalese is split prior elections; some are in favour of the President whom believed he could bring peace and stability to the nation whereas others is expecting changes since none of the promise development comes to fruition since the war. Nevertheless, they will play the biggest role in deciding between continuity and change in this hard-fought contest. Doctor P. Saravanamuttu quoted as saying if enough Sri Lankan citizens go in large numbers as we have always done in the past and for over six decades....resisting the violence and the intimidation....then we may well get a result that at the end of the day reflects overall the wishes of the people of this country.
We will see the outcome of the election in due course!

'Haiti is planning to house 400,000 earthquake survivors in new tented villages outside the capital, Port-au-Prince, official has announced.'
In accordance with informations received, the death toll will reached as high as 200,000 people, besides 1.5 million people were left homeless. About 75,000 bodies have so far buried in massive graves, however, heaps of bodies remain uncollected in the streets. At this moment, at least 500,000 people are currently living outdoors in hundreds of improvised camp in the capital. As USA has taken full control of Haiti, some aid groups is reported to have left; such as UK, Belgium, Luxembourg as well as florida-based team.
Medicins San Frontieres has said only one out of 5 planes carrying 77 tonnes of medical and relief supplies have been able to land, doctors claimed that more is needed as patients still flooding in continuously which beyond their tolerance; above all, more medical personnel is desperately needed to back up their rescue action!
On the other hand, delivery of aid by road from the Dominican Republic has been limited due to security concerns, as a result, many people have still seen no international relief at all. Official has warned that people is becoming very angry and suffering from starvation but US and the UN World Food Programme insists the distribution of food and water is well underway.
The World Bank has announced that it is waiving any payments on Haiti's debt for the next five years and finding a way to cancel it altogether. Haiti owe's the institution US$38 million.
Consequently, I felt very sympathetic towards the people of Haiti and do pray wholeheartedly that they could stand on their feet in due time!

US marines arrive to bolster Haiti quake efforts (transcript from BBC, UK on 19/01/2010)
'More than 2,000 US marines are set to join 1,000 US troops on the ground in Haiti, as aid efforts gather pace almost a week after the earthquake'.
During the past couple of days Haiti has fallen into complet chaos as thousands of people fleeing the capital and many are seeking US visas. Looting is now taking place in the capital amid the arrival of US marines. It was run by rival gangs whom took the law into their hands. According to the report, situation has been improving gradually despite of the violence and urgent needed food, water and medical supplies, heavy equipment etc. has been delivered to the people, however, the pace still slow due to the heavily congested airport as well as many roads are still blocked by corpses and debris.
Special UN envoy former US president Bill Clinton arrived on Monday and he reiterated that many has to be done whereby UN troops is expediting their duty to keep the society under security whereby US troops is to take full control organizing distribution supplies to those desperately in need!
UN launched an appeal for US$562 million intended to help 3 million people for six months which has been echoed by EU, UK, US, France, Norway, World Bank etc. Now the aid pledged to Haiti already reaches US$868 million.
I do prayed that all donations including money could really reaches the hands of Haitian people instead of transferred into the pocket of corrupted bureaucratic officials or welathy group of people!

Haiti earthquake death toll 'may be 50,000 ' (transcript from BBC, UK on 15/01/2010)
'The Red Cross estimates 45,000 - 50,000 people have died in Haiti's devastating earthquake, as rescue teams race against time to find survivors.'
This impoverished country has been shaken up by earthquake (grade 7 on the richter scale) on Tuesday which caused tens of thousands dead and devastation to the people. In accordance with the latest figures released by the Red Cross, about 45,000 - 50,000 people have died so far, however, the death toll still rising in the days to come!
USA & France is working with Brazil, Canada and other countries for a conference on reconstruction in Haiti shortly. At the moment, they are desperately in need of food, water, medical supplies and lifting equipment. Even though some aid groups are on the ground (such as The Red Cross) but much more resources is needed immediately. USA said some rescuers were already there and more were on their way, on the other hand, the Haitian government is fragile and no one is taking up the lead on organizing/dealing with all sorts of urgent things in the capital. As a lot of people still buried under the rubble of collapsed building, Haitian people use bare hand to rescue their relatives and friends but it could never work without lifting equipment (such as Bulldozers). Bodies are piling up in the streets but still no one is co-ordinating to do anything about it!
UK has already deployed a rescue team with heavy lifting gear and dogs which reached Haiti. Other relief supplies are being sent from the EU, Canada, Russia and Lain American nations. Cuba has 300 doctors in Haiti before the quake and has been treating the injured on the spot. On the whole, Haiti has fallen into chaos and the disaster was overwhelming which could rival the loss of life from 2004 Tsunami.
Think it will take years to reconstruct the nation back to normal. Let us keep our fingers crossed for the people of Haiti!

China faces growing gender imbalance (transcript from BBC, UK on 12/01/2010)
'More than 24 million chinese men of marrying age could find themselves without spouses by 2020, says the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.'
I would not be surprised after reading this article, as for centuries Chinese has been fallen into their traditional bias towards male children myth. For long time female has no status whatsoever in Chinese society, they have been marginalized and treated as sex tools or houseworker in the families. This is mainly due to "feudalism" been existed in China since many centuries, during that time, families will abandon female children after they gave birth or even strangled them to death, needless to say "feminism" uprising nowadays!
As far as I am concerned, gender imbalance has been a big problem since long and no one even care to face it until now. If chinese still have their mind hanging upon "feudalism"; i.e. continue to despise female's human rights and status in the society, neglecting about the basic principle of gender equality. By all means, the problem will become more and more serious that one could hardly tackled. I have been closely watched the dramatic change in China recently, regardless of their progress/improvement on economic growth, their scores on human rights and gender equality is a fail mark. Nevertheless, certain provinces already awared of the great impact on such issue, e.g. Shanghai is now encouraging parents to have two children instead of one. By and large, it could relieve the pressure of ageing population also striking the imbalance of male/female gender in the long run. I do hoped that more and more Chinese could face realities and sort out the problem otherwise the outcome will be catastrophic!

Global charter cities could alter our development strategies, says economists (transcript from Deutsche Welle, Germany on 08/01/2010)
'A renowned economist explains his visionary plan that he believes will raise underprivileged people around the world out of poverty quicker and better than classical foreign aid policies : new city with new rules.'
It was the first time I heard about this new concept of "global charter cities". This new growth theory was originated by Paul Romer who is an economist and senior fellow at Stanford University's Institute for Economic Research (SIEPR). He was named one of the 25 most influential Americans by Time Magazine.'
Deutsche Welle has conducted a comprehensive interview with him on this project which is of high interest to me!
I tried to briefly summarized the context and give some of my opinion as well per following:-
Paul romer's idea is to develope a "charter city" all over the world by developing coutries as to allocate those people who lived in poverty and looking for new lifes. According to a survey report, 7 hundred million people around the world would like to move permanently to a different country. He said in case "charter city" could be visualized, it could reduced poverty and raised wages as well as tandard of living. Since people would like to move places with good rules from countries with bad rules, but there are not enough spaces in countries with good rules, so "charter city" is a new concept to create places that have good quality rules where hundreds of millions of people could go.
He argues that one can start with uninhabited land and invite people in to live under a new system of rules those rules can very quickly take hold and thrive. For example, UK has created HK in a place where before they came no one lived. Even though his idea been criticised to be essentially "colonalism revisited" (e.g. Canada charter project in Cuba, Australia charter project with Indonesia or a project in India).
Nevertheless, he denied that as colonial as it creates some new cities like Munich, Zurich or Vancouver which cannot let hundreds of millions of people goes. he also outlined that treaty could be signed to give someone rights to administer the land (e.g. USA is administering Guantanamo Bay in Cuba). Another thing is the partner government must set out a credible commitment to rules that remain in place for decades so that could attract not only families and workers, but emplopyers and investors as well!
When I finished reading this article, I must say this is a great idea which required one's courages, imagination as well as strong will to take the risk. It might be a good solution to solve the pressing human problem!

Beijing disrupted by record snowfall (transcript from BBC, UK on 05/01/2010)
'The authorities in Beijing have closed schools and mobilised thousands of people to help clear roads after the heaviest snowfall for nearly 60 years.'
Apart from this article, I have also noticed another report regarding water pollution in China, it was revealed by the official Xinhua news agency, the pollution was due to about 150,000 litres of diesel poured into the Wei river in Shaanxi province after a construction accident on Wednesday, the oil spill has now reached Yellow river which is one of the major water sources in China. When you look into these two separate matters, one can realized that human beings has been paying heavy prices on economic growth at the expense of spoiling the global environment.
I have reiterated in my previous essay regarding climate change's been taking place all over the world. For which the Copenhagen Summit (COP15) should play an important role as to save our environment from human devastation, however, much to my dismay, the outcome of the conference has been far from beyond the world's expectation!
At the end of the day, the so called "Copenhagen Accord" been signed up without legal binding, committing some minor points such as giving out billions of funding to developing nations to combat climate change and global warming, sustaining the threshold of rising temperature to below 2 degree Celsius.
At the closing remarks, world leaders agreed to hold another meeting during the first part of this year in order to sort out differences and find out an acceptable common ground to all nations concerned. With those extreme weather changes underway recently, I am concerned that our next generations will be confronting with a horrific catastrophie!
God bless the world.

US shuts embassy as al-Qaeda 'plans attack in Yemen' (transcript from BBC, UK on 04/01/2010)
'The US has indications that al-Qaeda is planning an attack in the Yemeni capital Sanaa, President Barak Obama's top counter-terrorism adviser has said'.
At the same time, UK also announced their ambassy's closure as of Sunday temporarily, as US claimed that the alleged Christmas bomb attempt on a flight from Amsterdam to Detriot on Northwest Airlines was planned/carried out by al-Qaeda based in Yemen. President B. Obama's top counter-terrorism adviser John Brennan told the media that al-Qaeda is planning an attack in Yemen's capital Sanaa targeting emabssy of USA. An organization called 'al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula' posted a statement on internet admitted that they are behind an attempt to bomb a transatlantic airliner on Christmas day!
For nearly a decade Yemen has been facing a very tough/unstable condition due to the prolonged civil war in the north as well as confronting a separatist movement in the south.
As far as economy is concerned, Yemen is heavily oil-dependent and their output is 24.5 million barrels/US$1.5 billion (Jan-Oct 2009), their income per capita is US$950 (World bank, 2008). As a result, we can figure out how hard Yemeni is to suffer and meanwhile, Yemen has been classified as one of the poorest country in Middle East. Yemen's terrorist net works have reconstituted themselves since a 2006 jailbreak, when more than 20 convicted terrorists/suspected escaped from prison. Crackdowns in Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Pakistan have encouraged al-Qaeda associates to flee to Yemen's "under-governed" areas, where the central government confronts the prospect of state failure.
At present, USA is doubling the budget on military assistance to Yemen in the wake of the uprising al-Qaeda who might establish a new "safe haven" in the Arabian Peninsula.
In my personal view, conditions in Yemen will persists so long as the terrorist/extremeist in the Islamic world not eradicated, we could only hoped that one day sit back and relax on the plane without fear!
I herein wish everyone on the net a very Happy and Prosperous New Year fo 2010.
