'New Liberal leader Tony Abbott has promised to take the fight to the Government over emissions trading after werestling the leadership from Malcolm Turnbull by just one vote today.'
It is an i8nteresting article I have found on the web today.
Obviously, it seems to be a domestic issue in Australia politics, however, from my perspective, it has close link with the upcoming "Climate change" summit to be held in Copenhagen next week.
Tony Abbott was a long time politician in Liberal Party and adopted strong medical background as health Minister when Howard Government was in power; he is a religious believer and at one time taking his career in priesthood in St. Patrick's Seminary in manly. He strongly opposed abortion legislation when working as Health Minister which revealed his extreme/tough character.
During past few weeks, he has rejected ALP's proposal of ETS bill to be legislated before Senate Committe enquiry/debate/public hearing, whereby Malcolm Turnbull has compromised with Kevin Rudd on ETS after numerous amendments put in place.
As far as I am concerned, ETS (Emission Trading Scheme) is the weapon Kevin Rudd would like to arm with when joining the Climate change summit next week as to delcare his tance on dominating this issue.
To my understanding, ETS is a scheme which imposed tax system on industries such as coal miner, power generators etc. as to reduce CO2 emissions, those industries have to purchase a permit under such system and ultimately brought up their production cost which transfer back to the consumer/community.
With Tony Abbott's succession on the new leadership (beating Malcolm Turnball at 41 - 40 votes), we contemplate the ETS will be in turmoil that we could closely watch in the next few days.
In accordance with the public poll, if ETS cannot pass legislation shortly, it will trigger double dissolution which press the election ahead in Australia early next year!

I could hardly believed what China claims on drastic reduction to curb carbon intensity as reported, even USA only committed 17% on carbon dioxide emitted per unit of GDP in 2020 based on 2005 level. In the meantime, China unveils that they committed between 40-50% based on 2005 level?
Needless to say it will be great and beneficial to the environment worldwide if their commitment fully implemented!
In my view, China's economy still volatile instead of sustaining robust (based on the trade figures between China and Taiwan released during 2009).
At the same token, if we expect China to develop renewable energy, press ahead on nuclear power, fix up fiscal, tax and pricing policy as per stated, I don't reckoned that will come to fruition as to my understanding, China takes no deeds but only words, besides we must not forget that China is under hegemonic regime which entirely manipulated by CCP, in that sense, it's hardly for them to achieve their objective unless they neglect the economic growth of their nation.
To summarize above issue, unless China bolish their strong sense of feudalism as well as xenophobia, otherwise fruitful result is hardly justified. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the upcoming climate summit spearheaded by Denmark next month could alleviate differences of opinion amongst relevant nations!

While I finished reading this article, I am still skeptical that USA and China could come to terms with climate change issue with the UN climate change summit in copenhagen just round the corner.
First of all, US Congress is delaying to put legislation to curb green house gas emission even though the House of Representatives had passed the bill. I just wonder if B. Obama will be coming up with something ahead of the Summit?
According to the report released from USA, B. Obama will be participating the Summit provided hispresence would increase chance reaching agreement among 192 parties!
Nevertheless, I can see very slim chances such scenario would tak place as it's a tough job for such a lot of nations could come into terms on relevant topics (e.g. how much to share funds between developed/developing countries, target to reduce Carbon Dioxide etc.).

Most of the western powers is starting to drag their feet on deploying more troops to Afghanistan; as they recognize that it could be a war without end!
The point is; it causes great impact to their nation socially/politically/economically. As a result, western power (including Germany) take a tougher line on Afghanistan with no alternative.
Prior my observations, terrorism didn't play an important role on stopping the country to democratization, on the contrary, poverty and corruption is the major obstacle.
Over a decade, Afghanistan is running without a strong and effective government; the situation is deteriorating dramatically after 2001 (while Taliban has been driven out of the country with the help of USA).
Afghanistan is listed second most corrupt country in the world (just behind Somalia). It also reported that most civilian wants to leave the country if possible because those people at the top gaining at the expenses of people at the bottom. Those people even cannot afford to have enough food as well as proper shelter to stay in, as foreign aids didn't reach to these folks who need it most!

I found this report very interesting, even though I have limited medical knowledge but it is really true that such treatment will surpass any type of medications!
The reason is; our body had our own repairing mechanism, e.g. immunity which detects virus and attack them spot on.
By all means, it avoids minor disease undermining our health.
On such basis, Transcendental Meditation is a kind of self-healing remedy which anyone can adopt easily.
It is a way of relaxing one's mind by sitting around at ease and "dream" about anything that you might have in your mind, I would like to emphasize "dream" as it is something one unable to achieve and you have to reflect again and again as to trepass your limit, spend 20 minutes, your could tell the difference!
In accordance with researchers, it relieves one's Psychological stress as well as having significant effect to reduce blood pressure, irrespective of ethnicity.

When I read this article, I am not at all astonished because such scenario is expected to happen sooner or later.
I have reiterated in my recent comment on climate change that has taken place at the moment was the main driver for the dramatic change loss on ice both in Greenland and the Antartica. One could argued that it's not caused by carbon emission from the industrial countries, but I would like to point out that the environment has been devastated by the same pattern.
When we look back several decades ago when our world is not so fully industrialized, our life cycle has been generating in her normal phase!
We didn't see too much extreme climate change as well as natural disaster which happened so frequently nowadays.
As far as I am concerned, the only way to save the world is; every country should reflect deeply on the problem of globalization which in my view giving a big blow to sustain our environment; if we could live a more simple life instead of chasing for wealth (reducing one's greediness for money), to maintain our economic growth on a steady pace, reducing carbon emission caused by our industrial countries (whom produced heaps of goods as to keep their economy growth to a high scale).
Then I am positive that climate change could be suppressed to a stable level even not contained completely!

Korean navies clash in disputed zone (transcript from ABC, Australia on 10/11/2009)
'South Korea's media is reporting that the North and South Korean navies have clashed in the Yellow sea'.
After reading the report, I am convinced that reunification between North and South Korea still has a long long way to go!
My perspective is quite simple; since the secession of two nations after the Korean civil war during 1950's, citizen on South and North Korea is living in a totally different world! North Korean people has been suffering sanctions from the western world and by itself under rulership by a dictator (totalitarian regime). On top of that, citizen from the North also suffering from starvations, poverty as well as livelihood without freedom.
Contrary to the North, South Korean people is luckier as they have been receiving foreign aids from western world during the early 60's after the secession of Korean war. In the meantime, South Korean has been transformed into a democratic nation from late 80's which benefited from the wave of democratization all over the world.
Regardless of their races falls into same ethnic group, but due to great difference on political environment as well as mechanism which will keep both nation apart in the foreseeable future!

Just like the preparatory conference held in Spain last week, European Union ploedged to raise funds to tackle problem of climate change up to 100 billions Euros per annum at 2020, but did not commit an exact figure on how much they could contribute?
